Our Story
We’re the Shaffer family—animal lovers, homeschoolers, and the team behind Shaffer Family Pet Pals! Our pet-sitting and dog-walking business is run by four siblings: Jonathan, Peter, Phoebe, and Eden, with the help of our parents, Jonathan and Melodie.
As a homeschooling family, we believe in hands-on learning, and what better way to learn responsibility, customer service, and business skills than by doing something we love—caring for pets!
Whether it’s taking your dog for a fun walk, giving your cat some extra attention while you’re away, or making sure your pets are happy and safe, we treat every animal like part of our own family. We can’t wait to meet them!
Our Pets
We currently have four rescue cats! Haffy, Jesse, Sugar, and Honey.
Sugar and Honey were abandoned when they were just 2 days old, and we nursed them until they could eat on their own.
Now they are healthy and happy and ultra-cuddly!
Our Commitment
P.E.T.S. is a non-profit organization focused on controlling the local pet population. They provide low cost spay and neuter services to the public.

Trap-Neuter-Return programs are an effective way to control feral cat populations. We try to help the Bivins neighborhood by catching feral cats near our house and taking them to P.E.T.S. to be spayed or neutered.
We use 10% of everything we earn for TNR in our neighborhood and to give directly to the The P.E.T.S. Clinic of Amarillo.
